Mothers' Club
August 2009
Dear Mother’s Club Member,
How can it be the end of August already? Is it me or are summers going faster and faster? The first day of school is just around the corner and preparations are well underway for a wonderful year.
Please join me for our first Mothers’ Club meeting on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 8:00a.m. in the Parish Center. Mrs. Oswald will present a school year update and key members of each committee will speak briefly on what they are working on for upcoming school year. You will have a chance to sign up for a favorite committee or two and share the company of friends, both old and new, while enjoying a delicious breakfast.
Mothers’ Club dues are $100 per member and were paid with your registration. The dues, which are completely controlled by the Mothers’ Club, support a variety of items such as playground improvements, hospitality, teacher appreciation and much more. The Mothers’ Club is vital to the SMT because we form the committees that help support and enrich our school community.
Our goals for the year are two-fold. First, is support, not only towards the school but each other. Being a mom today is harder than ever and together we can achieve so much more than each of us alone. Second, is active participation. We need each and every one of you to be involved. No matter how little or how large, getting involved helps you to feel an active part of this community. Your children need to see you involved. It makes them feel special when they see you doing something for their school and it teaches them about community service. Pick something you are interested in and dive in. All are welcome. I would like each of you to find some way to feel included and to know that each of you make a difference here.
We have a great system now in place to keep you informed 24/7. Visit our website at www.smtschool.net to get information, download forms, e-mail teachers, make donations etc. Also, make sure that you are signed up for our e-mail link to all SMT families called “The Grapevine.” If you haven’t yet signed up, please look to the left, where it says "Newletter" to sign up for both the school issued weekly Bulletin and our parent Grapevine.
The Mothers’ Club is not only moms coming together to support SMT but moms coming together to support each other. As we can all attest, being a mom is a job like no other. Please let’s be each other’s support and look out for one another as we strive make SMT a wonderful place for our children. Please get involved as much as you can and I look forward to sharing a positive fulfilling year with all of you!
Sincerely,
Janet Anderson
SMT Mothers’ Club President
