Fathers' Club Welcome

I hope that you and your family had a wonderful and safe summer.  As summer comes to an end, another promising year is set to begin at St. Martin of Tours.  I know that my children are excited about the coming year and I trust that yours are as well.  In addition, our wonderful faculty and staff have prepared to provide our children with an outstanding and enjoyable experience this year.

As much as our children are the focus of the school, we as parents also benefit from the greater school community.  My wife Marci and I have made good friends through the years at St. Martin’s.  We have participated in our children’s experience at the school in ways that we never imagined when our oldest daughter Madeleine started some years ago.  Now, with four children attending St. Martin’s, we can say with great confidence that we know it provides a wonderful education for our children.

We at the Fathers Club are looking forward to a terrific year.  To those fathers that are new to St. Martin’s, our overall purpose as an organization is to provide support to our children, the people that work with them every day, and to connect with the other families at the school.  I can say that our efforts are well appreciated and critical to many aspects of school life.

To begin our year, we will hold our Annual Fathers Club Dinner Meeting on Thursday, September 29.  This event is an opportunity for us to eat and drink together, to enjoy one another’s company, and to meet and greet the new dads at the school.  It is also our one and only organized group meeting of the year, and it is here that we will discuss all the activities and events for the coming year.  Included with this letter is your invitation to attend.  Please send in your response and do try to be there.

A new school year also means a renewal of the Fathers Club financial commitment to the school, in the form of our annual dues solicitation. Our dues are the primary means of raising funds for the Fathers Club.  Our dues, which are fully tax-deductible, help to supplement those things not covered by tuition:  school supplies, teaching aids, sports equipment and after-school programs.   We have a great tradition of excellence in and out of the classroom, which is aided in part by the Fathers Club.  Included with this letter is a separate explanation of the dues and a form to make the dues payment to the Fathers Club.

One final, but very important, point:  you should always feel encouraged to reach out to me if you want to become more involved at the school.  We have many ways where you can participate, and we can always use additional volunteers among the fathers at the school.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting on the 29th.

Sincerely,
