Fathers' Club Welcome
It’s hard to believe, but another summer has come and gone and we are set to start school again. The kids are eager to see their friends, and the faculty and staff are ready to prepare them for a great year of academic achievement and extracurricular fun.The achievement and fun are not limited to just students and faculty, either. We at the Fathers Club are prepared for a little of both. To kick things off, we will hold our Annual Fathers Club Dinner Meeting on Thursday, September 24. This year’s meeting will be an early Oktoberfest, an opportunity for us to eat and drink together, to enjoy one another’s company, and to show the ropes to the new dads at the school. It is also, as you know, our one and only meeting of the year, and it is here we will discuss all the activities and events for the coming year. Included with this letter is your invitation to attend. Please send in your response and plan to be there.
Our overall purpose as an organization is to provide support to our students and staff while fostering friendship among the families of the school. The school needs us and the work we do. And, as a general rule, we have a lot of fun together while we are doing what needs to be done. A new school year also means a renewal of the Fathers Club financial commitment to the school, in the form of our annual dues solicitation. Our dues help to pay for the programs not covered by the tuition: school items, teacher gifts, sports, and after-school programs. You probably know that the tuition at St. Martin’s is one-third to one-half the cost of similar schools in our neighborhood. We have a great tradition of excellence in and out of the classroom. Our dues make this possible, and provide you with a great return, in the form of our children’s education, on your investment. Later this month I will send out the dues forms to every father in the school. I ask you to consider increasing your dues commitment from last year and again promise that your money will be spent carefully, prudently, and well.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting on the 24th. Here’s to another great year at St. Martin’s!
Sincerely,
Peter A. Reale
Fathers Club President
