In the tradition of bringing families together outside of school, we re happy to say we are going to return to Mammoth this year for a weekend of fun in the snow.

When: Friday February 19th thru Sunday February 21 (Additional nights/tickets available upon request)

Rooms range from studio to 3-bedroom condos, all with the plush services of a premier hotel. And with a phenomenal central location in the heart of The Village at Mammoth, visitors get the action of town with mountain access (via the Village Gondola) just steps away.

But that's only if you leave the hotel – guests enjoy a heated pool, five hot tubs, three fitness centers, a media room and an arcade for the kids or even the occasional parent.

To get to The Village Lodging from Highway 203, continue straight on 203/Main St. Go through the second stop light ( Minaret Rd.) and turn right at the next stop light, Canyon Blvd. You will pass the Village on your right. Turn right on Hillside Drive and another right onto Forest Trail. The Village Lodging check-in and hotel lobby entrance is on the right-hand side of Forest Trail.

1 Bedroom Condo: $299.00 (retail $499.00) per night
2 Bedroom Condo: $399.00 (retail $789.00) per night

Rates are non-commissionable. A town occupancy tax of 13%, subject to change, will be added to the nightly rate of each room. If staying at The Village Lodging, a local civic fee of .75% will be added to the nightly rate of each room. The preceding rates are not valid without a counter signed contract on file with the MMSA Group Sales office. A resort fee of $20.00 per night will be applied to each room for each night, details of what this fee enables us to provide are in the
Reservation Policy section.

Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has a Resort fee of $20.00 per room per night. This fee entitles guests of our lodging properties to the following benefits: unlimited internet usage, unlimited local and 800 phone calls, incoming and outgoing fax service, business center computer services, DVD movie rental, in room tea and coffee, game room access, fitness room access and in resort transportation. This fee also enables us to provide seasonal bike storage, ski and snowboard valet, and chain installation and removal.

Unless otherwise noted, guests are responsible for their own incidental charges. Upon arrival, MMSA requires a credit card for each guest room to establish individual accounts for telephone calls and any additional room charges. Individual accounts of guest of SMT Father’s Club must be paid upon checkout. If individual accounts are not paid at checkout, the charges will be transferred to the Group Master Account and paid for by SMT Father’s Club.

Group check-in time is after 4:00 PM. Group checkout time is 11:00 AM. MMSA asks that you make your attendees aware of this schedule. Any request for other arrangements will be considered by the Front Desk Manager no sooner than 36 hours prior to your group’s arrival. Upon arrival, the room keys will be issued to guests identified on the group rooming list. All keys must be returned to the Front Desk no later than 11:30 AM on day of departure. Any key not returned to the Front Desk by this time will be deactivated and access to that room will be denied. Should MMSA find any individuals have re-entered a room after 11:30 AM without prior authorization from the Front Desk, we reserve the right to charge your account an additional half-day room rental. In order to avoid these charges, all keys must be returned to the Front Desk by 11:30 AM.

SKI and Snowboard:

Learn to Ski and Snowboard:

Sled and Snow Tube: Snow Tubing, just down the road from Minaret towards town. Whether you're looking for the downhill rush without having to strap on skis or just want to slip and slide your way down the hill while sitting down, checkout tubing. Located on Minaret Road on the way up to the Main Lodge, it's only $25 an hour for tube rental and full rope-tow access. But be sure to bring some greenbacks, Sledz is cash only.

Snowmobile:
If you've ever been snowmobiling, you know it's a great way to find fun far from the beaten path. If you haven't, well, it's time you tried. Mammoth Snowmobile Adventures is the perfect outfitter for first-timers or seasoned experts. Experienced guides and top-of-the-line equipment grant you access to California's greatest playground including: thousands of acres of trails, pristine backcountry, spacious meadows, historic landmarks and lush pine forests. GUIDED TOURS ARRANGED BY THE MOUNTAIN are around $100.00 per hour.

Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing at Tamarack Cross-country Ski Center:
For an unforgettable winter experience, escape to the serene tree-lined trails of Mammoth's scenic Lakes Basin. Nineteen miles of freshly groomed skating, classic and snowshoe trails await cross-country skiers and snowshoers of all abilities. In the tranquility of the backcountry, only the sound of winter birds and your own locomotion fills your ears as the bustle of town dissolves. Experience the Sierras in a way few others do: come play in woods.

In addition to these mountain activities, The Village offers a variety of shopping and restaurants of all types on site, including a general store with a phenomenal wine, cheese, and candy selection. Juliette and I are big fans of this store!

How do I get there?

By Airplane: Only 1 Hour

Horizon Air (http://www.alaskaair.com) offers two flights out of LAX to Mammoth Lakes. And two return flights.

They are:

Price is around: 300$ roundtrip. Complimentary airport shuttle from/to Mammoth Airport

By Car: About 5 Hours. Carpooling is fun!

The drive to Mammoth offers a spectacular tour of the Eastern Sierra. From the moment you hit the highway, you travel through one of the most beautiful portions of California. Valleys give way to mountains and energy builds until Mammoth Mountain looms in the distance. Access from all directions via the scenic north-to-south US Hwy 395, running along the eastern edge of California's Sierra Nevada Range.

Please check with Caltrans for pass and road closures during the winter.

From LA: You'll pass Death Valley, Mount Whitney and the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Take I-5 north to State Route 14 north to US 395 north to State Route 203 (300-375 miles).
